Identity

In hundreds of performances across the UK and Ireland since its formation in 2003, Edinburgh-based JazzMain has helped keep alive the jazz canon of Horace Silver, Hank Mobley, Sonny Rollins Dexter Gordon, George Coleman and many other ‘Blue Note’-style luminaries that blazed a trail through the 1950s onwards.

The band’s passion for its cool and bop-style jazz remains undimmed as it enters its 16th year in paying homage to the pioneers of what is, arguably, the most exciting and melodic jazz ever to grace the stage.

A JazzMain performance is a very engaging experience. From the moment you hear this quartet, it is clear that JazzMain really raises the bar in its phenomenal raw groove, tightness and infectious verve.

JazzMain is Nick Gould ( tenor ), Steve Grossart ( keys ), Iain Harkness ( electric 5-string bass) & Kevin Dorrian ( drums )
