Identity

London-born Emilie Boyd moved to Glasgow 10 years ago to study music, and stayed for the vibrant and creative scene there. She is a familiar face in venues across Scotland, performing mostly in jazz and contemporary music. She’s a front-woman for many of her own projects, and a regular backing vocalist and collaborator. She fronts ‘The Emilie Boyd Quintet’, and is one third of ‘Little Acres’, a contemporary vocal trio.  Recent notable performances include her 3-time sell-out show “Like A Cat Tied to a Stick: Radiohead Re-imagined”; writing the backing vocals with Little Acres for Adam Holmes’ album ‘Dreamweaver’; featured on jazz DJ/producer Rebecca Vasmant’s album ‘From Glasgow, With Love’; and working with artists such as Corinne Bailey Rae, Natasha Bedingfield, Andy Alston (Del Amitri), Rachel Sermanni, Kathryn Joseph, Tom McGuire and the Brassholes, Fat-Suit, and Man of the Minch. In 2020 she was nominated in the ‘Best Vocalist’ category at the Scottish Jazz Awards. When she’s not performing, Emilie works in community music. In particular, she leads and arranges music for large-scale community choir organisations, ‘Got Soul’ and ‘SoundRoutes Singers’
