The Forest Arts Centre is the creative heart of New Milton. This wonderful live performance venue is home to a 140-seat theatre, an art gallery, a dance studio, an art studio and a fully licensed café bar. We offer the very best in music, theatre and comedy as well as a range of classes and workshops for children and adults of all ages and abilities. Forest Arts has been the creative heart of New Milton for nearly 50 years. Our programme of entertainment includes some of the most exciting touring musicians, stand-up comedy, fortnightly film screenings, talks and community events.
Our Green Room café/bar is also a gallery and our annual open exhibition is a place where artists we’ve nurtured in our classes and workshops can display their work too. Visit during the day and you’ll find our building full of people who are learning something new – whether that’s ballet, art or stone carving; the classes and workshops continue into the evening – ensuring that as many people as possible make the best use of our facilities.
Hampshire Cultural Trust was established in 2014 to promote Hampshire as a great cultural county and to operate arts and museums facilities previously operated by Hampshire County Council and Winchester City Council. We manage and support 26 arts and museums attractions across Hampshire (23 directly and three in partnership), and deliver county-wide outreach programmes that bring great culture to local communities. We work with young people and target audiences from diverse backgrounds in all areas including literature, rural arts touring, the visual arts and local history. In addition, we look after 2.5 million objects relating to Hampshire’s internationally significant cultural heritage.
