Identity

Having studied at both Leeds College of Music and Guildhall School of Music and Drama respectively, I have had a varied and diverse education and career.  I began my musical life in brass bands and choirs but soon developed a passion for Jazz as well.  Alongside this, I even had a spell in the Royal Artillery Band in the army playing trumpet and double bass in the orchestra.  My time in the army took me to events and concerts in various countries and many high profile ceremonial occasions.  After five years service I left to pursue my own musical aspirations.
Now based in Leeds/Bradford (and at times Barcelona), I have been performing with my own group the Toby Brazier Sextet.  Formed from talented Leeds based jazz musicians this is a great group to be in and I feel privileged to perform with such great musicians.  Recently, we recorded our first album together ‘Crisis Point’, which is now on sale on all platforms.  The album consists of five original fusion/funk inspired compositions written by myself.  Whilst in Leeds I have also been performing in various other ensembles including the Tom Sharp Jazz Orchestra, Gordon Tetley Big Band and Hammonds Saltaire Band.
